ALLIANCE PROFILE
- Macedonian Alliance was founded in 1991.
- The official name is "Macedonian
Alliance".
- M.Y.A platform is to raise Macedonian awareness
in the Australian wider community.
- M.Y.A is a world network which boosts members
in all states in Australia and overseas.
- M.Y.A's most successful achievement was when
the Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic recognized Macedonian Independence. It was the first country to
recognize Macedonia.
M.Y.A had a major role in this by lobbying to the Northern Cypriot community in Australia.
- A novel written by Nick Atanasovski "The
Division Of Macedonia
And The Oppression Of Macedonians Under Greek Occupation" were
on behalf of the M.Y.A.
- M.Y.A. has yearly functions, such as annual
ball, nightclub parties, boat cruises.
- In 1997 M.Y.A. formed a 'six a side' soccer
tournament through the summer.It consisted of an 8-team competition,
which involved a girls team.
- M.Y.A participated in the Independence and
Slav-prefix protests, a substantial amount of members participated in the march.
- 2001 - MA organises two donation nights for
the Fallen Heroes families of Macedonia, it was attended by Macedonian Businesses and
the Macedonian Community of Victoria. $38,030 was raised for our Fallen Heroes.
- 2002 - MA organises a press conference in
the dormentry of ARM (Armijata Na Republika Makedonija), Cheques of $540 was presented to the wives
and mothers of the Fallen Heroes of Macedonia.
- 2002 - MA delegates meet with Macedonian Interior
Minister "Ljube Boskovski" the crises in Macedonia and
the Macedonian Diaspora of Australia were discussion topics raised with the Minister.
- 2002 - MA delegate attends the Goce Delchev grave and memeorial site and lays a reef in respect
to the great revolutionary leader in front a of thousands that paid respect to the great man.
- 2003 - MA stages 100 years of Ilinden at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, MA delegates laid a reef in remembrance of all the fallen heroes for a free Macedonian Republic.
- 2004 - MA stages Ilinden at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne.
